Hammer and Chisel is a registered 501 (c) 3 corporation in the United States of America.  We consider this a movement, open to new ideas, made up of people with a plan to make a difference.  Born out of the experiences of two South Africans during the years of Apartheid (systematized racial discrimination), Hammer and Chisel now seeks to reach out to all people and engage them in education and service efforts around the world.

We are a committed company with passionate individuals who seek to connect with other passionate people as we work and serve those affected by the discrimination, poverty and heartache of our world.  While the reasons for these problems are many there is only one real solution - for each and every one of us to get involved with our gifts, talents, skills and abilities to improve all our lives.  It is even better when we take these innate or learnt abilities within us and infuse them with the passionate desires of our hearts.  This is what Hammer and Chisel is about, this is why we work and this is what we invite you to give to and even join.

For this reason we crafted our purpose statement, "Sculpting learners and leaders for lasting change" and the associated tagline "Sculpting Lasting Change".  While seemingly contradictory because change is by definition not lasting, we believe that if we create within people a passion for learning and service and allow them to explore their leadership skills and gifts the result will be changed people, and this will be lasting.
